At the heart of every community are clubs, groups and causes who make a difference to the lives of the people who live there. The EBS Community fund provides support to projects that benefit local communities around Ireland, with the intention that the money helps people to continue the great work that they do.
When the fund is open, EBS invites people around the country to nominate a group, club or cause in their local community for consideration. All groups or causes, once operating at a local level are considered. Our aim is to ensure that as many communities benefit as possible recognising that even small contributions matter to these organisations and especially in these difficult times.
Ultimately through the EBS Community Fund we hope to make a meaningful and positive impact in communities around the country. We hope through receiving support from the EBS community fund, groups will realise the support they have in the community (through their nomination) and the funds go in some small way to helping them continue the good work that they do.
To date over 600 causes around Ireland have received support from the fund. The successful groups include disability schools, support groups, youth groups, elderly care and sports groups – all of which sit at the core of our communities. Feedback from those that have received help has been positive as many are struggling with funding in these difficult economic times. We are told that even the small impacts that the fund makes can in fact cause a ripple effect of positive thinking, confidence and a real sense of community.
