Government Stamp Duty (GSD)

On 27 January 2025 we’ll charge Government Stamp Duty (GSD) for 2024 to your EBS debit card.

The charge is €0.12 for each ATM transaction, capped at €2.50 if you only use your debit card for ATM transactions.  If you use your debit card for purchases and ATM transactions in the Republic of Ireland, the GSD charge is capped at €5.00.  GSD is applied to each card, so we charge each card on a joint account with two cards where both have been used.

Customers who have only used the card for purchases will not be charged GSD.

Please make sure there’s enough money in your account to cover the GSD charge, otherwise a further charge will be applied.

EBS d.a.c. is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.
