If you like the look of our MoneyManger account but already have a bank account in place, we can help you switch your account to EBS. The process is smooth and hassle free in line with the Central Bank of Ireland's Switching Code and we'll make sure that any direct debits or standing orders you may have coming out of your current bank account are seamlessly switched to your new EBS MoneyManager account.

You may also be interested in switching your MoneyManager account out of EBS to another bank account. To do this you must obtain a Switching Pack from the bank that you wish to transfer your account into and follow the steps that are outlined. This process is in line with the Central Bank of Ireland's Switching Code. Please contact us if you need more information.
The purchase of additional services offered by EBS is not required in order to open or access an EBS MoneyManager account.
Government Stamp Duty will be charged at a rate of €0.12 per ATM transaction. Government Stamp Duty only applies to ATM transactions carried out within Ireland (excluding Northern Ireland). This charge is capped at €2.50 if you only use your debit card for ATM transactions and capped at €5 if you use your debit card for both purchases and ATM transactions. Government Stamp Duty charge on debit cards is applied in January, for the previous year. Government Stamp Duty of €0.50 is payable in respect of a cheque withdrawal. You can transfer funds from your EBS account using the individual International Bank Account Number (IBAN) for the payee's account.
You can transfer funds from your EBS account to a bank within Ireland or a bank outside Ireland within the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) through Your Accounts Online.
You can also withdraw funds and lodge to another EBS account in an EBS Office.
As EBS operates euro accounts only, payments can only be sent in euro.

A SEPA Instant Payment can be made to participating banks in the EU/EEA under the SEPA Scheme. From 9 October 2025, eurozone banks must be able to send and receive SEPA Instant payments. For non-eurozone banks, it will not be mandatory to send or receive SEPA Instant Payments until 2027.
EU member states: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
Other countries and territories that are part of the SEPA Zone: Aland Islands, Azores, Canary Islands, French Guiana, Gibraltar, Guadeloupe, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Madeira, Martinique, Mayotte, Norway, Reunion, Saint Barthelemy, and Saint Martin.
Non-EEA countries and territories that are part of the SEPA Zone: Albania, Andorra, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, San Marino, Switzerland, Vatican City and United Kingdom*.
*While the United Kingdom is no longer an EU state or EEA country, it will remain a Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) reachable country.
All of the above countries and territories are part of the SEPA zone, however not all financial institutions in these countries are SEPA participants.
Customers must instruct their bank to send funds directly to EBS SWIFT BIC EBSIIE2D referencing their IBAN.
As EBS operates Euro accounts only, international payments to EBS accounts can only be in Euro.
Note: Any payments sent to EBS in non Euro currencies cannot be processed and will be returned.
You can transfer funds to your EBS account using the individual International Bank Account Number (IBAN) for your EBS account and the EBS SEPA BIC: EBSIIE2DSDD.
You can find your IBAN on your EBS account statement. You can also contact EBS on 0818 654 322, or visit your local EBS office quoting the EBS account to which you want the funds transferred.
You can also lodge funds to your EBS account in an EBS Office.
As EBS operates euro accounts only, SEPA payments can only be received in euro.

To set up a Standing Order, you can complete a Standing Order form with your details, a valid IBAN for the account you want to transfer funds to, and any other information that we might need.

You can set up a standing order within the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA). Please see above question for the full list of countries in SEPA.
To update or cancel a standing order send us the instruction signed by all parties on the account. This can be posted to 10 Molesworth Street, Dublin 2, D02 R126, or emailed to info@mail.ebs.ie or dropped into an EBS office.
This can take up to a maximum of three business working days to take effect.
