What is a Trusted Contact Person?

A Trusted Contact Person is someone you can nominate for us to contact in certain situations. With this service we can contact a person you trust if we have concerns that you may be experiencing financial abuse, or if we need to check information like your contact details or health status.

When can we call your Trusted Contact Person?

We may call your Trusted Contact Person for the following reasons;

  • If we have concerns about possible financial abuse.
  • To confirm your contact information.
  • To discuss your health status.
  • To verify the identity of any appointed legal guardian, executor, or trustee.
  • If we experience difficulties in communicating with you.

How to nominate a Trusted Contact Person?

What else you should know

  • A Trusted Contact Person cannot manage your banking.
  • A Trusted Contact Person has no authority over your account, is not a Third Party Authority and cannot act as your legal representative.
  • You cannot use this service if a decision-making representative or power of attorney is in place.
